When you have your solo art exhibition at the Visual Arts Center of NEW JERSEY, work at NEW JERSEY Youth Corps, and love to shop at SEW JERSEY in your NEW JERSEY Devils jersey...#JerseyGirl #JerseyWorld (Above pic: 2020)
I am a multi-disciplinary artist who delves into fiber art, quilting, découpage, collage, digital art, and mixed media using predominantly, but not exclusively, African, Aboriginal, Dutch, Asian, and other imported textiles.
I employ the time-honored arts of sewing, quilting, collaging, découpaging, and mixed media with imported and domestic textiles. I LOVE color! Earth tones, reminiscent of the colors that I grew up with within my home, dominate my art. All of my arrangements are extremely calculated, contrived, and deliberate. I take meticulous care to ensure that the designs, scales, and textures of the fabrics complement one another and appropriately contrast when necessary. I do the fussiest fussy-cutting, and I feel like I “paint” with the medium of fabric like a painter paints with his or her paints.
I believe our whole styles of living can be works of art if make it so. I strive to make art that people would love to have in their spaces and even on themselves.
